Every Avyanna piece is made to order in certified 14kt or 18kt gold — yellow, white, or rose — and set with IGI-certified lab-grown diamonds. We do not hold inventory because we do not believe in generic. Every ring, necklace, bracelet, and earring is built for one person, for one story.

Our stones are selected for their cut, clarity, colour, and carat — the same 4C standards applied to the finest mined diamonds in the world. Each piece arrives with its full IGI grading report, a certificate of authenticity, and our care guide.

We take 4 to 6 weeks because craftsmanship cannot be rushed. Quality jewellery that carries meaning for generations deserves time, precision, and intention.

Lab-Grown vs Mined Diamonds — What Is the Real Difference?

This is the question we are asked most — and it deserves a straight answer.

Chemically identical. Both mined and lab-grown diamonds are made of pure carbon arranged in a cubic crystal structure. If you placed both under a gemologist's loupe — or even the most advanced spectrometer — they would be indistinguishable.

Same hardness. Both score 10 on the Mohs scale — the hardest natural material on earth. Your lab-grown diamond will not scratch, chip, or dull any differently than a mined stone.

Same brilliance & fire. The optical properties — refractive index, dispersion, lustre — are identical. A well-cut lab diamond dazzles exactly as a mined diamond does.

How are they made? Lab diamonds are created in one of two ways: CVD (Chemical Vapour Deposition) or HPHT (High Pressure High Temperature) — both mimicking the natural conditions deep in the earth. The process takes weeks, not billions of years, but the result is scientifically the same.

What about price? Lab-grown diamonds are typically 50–70% less expensive than mined diamonds of equivalent grade. This means more carat for your budget — or simply a smarter investment in a stone that carries the same meaning.

What about certification? Every Avyanna diamond comes with an IGI (International Gemological Institute) certificate — the same institute that grades mined diamonds for luxury houses worldwide. The certificate lists carat, cut, colour, clarity and confirms the stone's origin.

How a Custom Ring Goes From Your Vision to Your Finger

Most people assume custom jewellery is complicated, expensive, or reserved for the ultra-wealthy. At Avyanna, we have made it the most personal, seamless experience we can offer.

Step 1 — The Conversation. It begins with a WhatsApp message. Tell us anything — a photo you saved, a description of something you imagined, an occasion you are preparing for. We ask questions, we listen, and we understand before we design. There is no pressure, no sales script.

Step 2 — Design & Renders. Our designers create detailed sketches and photorealistic 3D renders of your piece. You will see exactly how it will look — the proportions, the stone, the setting — before a single gram of gold is committed. We refine until it is exactly right.

Step 3 — Stone Selection. We select your lab-grown diamond based on your preferences and budget — choosing the best cut, colour, and clarity for your specific design. We share the IGI details and you approve before we proceed.

Step 4 — Crafting. Skilled artisans handcraft your piece in 14kt or 18kt gold. We do not use moulds for bespoke pieces — each one is made with hands, precision tools, and patience. This stage takes 3 to 4 weeks.

Step 5 — Quality & Delivery. Every piece undergoes quality inspection before it is set. Then it is packaged in our signature box with the IGI certificate, a personal care guide, and delivered to your door.

14kt or 18kt Gold — Which is Right for Your Piece?

One of the first choices in designing your piece — and often the most confusing. Here is everything you need to know.

What does the karat mean? Karat refers to purity. 24kt is pure gold — beautiful but too soft for jewellery. We work with 14kt (58.3% pure gold) and 18kt (75% pure gold), both mixed with alloy metals for strength and durability.

14kt Gold is more durable due to its higher alloy content. It is ideal for rings and bracelets that are worn daily and exposed to more wear. It is slightly more affordable and holds its shape exceptionally well. The colour is a slightly softer, lighter gold.

18kt Gold has a richer, deeper colour and a more luxurious lustre due to its higher gold content. It is the preferred choice for statement pieces, necklaces, and earrings that sit closer to the skin. It is also the standard for fine jewellery worldwide.

Yellow Gold is the classic — warm, timeless, and deeply rooted in Indian jewellery tradition. It complements warm and olive skin tones beautifully and pairs gorgeously with fancy-coloured diamonds.

White Gold is yellow gold mixed with white metals (palladium or nickel) and plated with rhodium for its brilliant silver finish. It is the modern, contemporary choice and makes white diamonds appear even more luminous.

Rose Gold gets its blush from a copper alloy. It is romantic, warm, and deeply flattering on Indian skin tones. It has become the most requested metal at Avyanna — particularly for engagement rings.

The Dark Myths Behind Mined Diamonds — What the Industry Never Told You

For centuries, mined diamonds have been sold as symbols of eternal love. But beneath the glitter lies a history the industry has carefully buried.

"A Diamond is Forever" — The Greatest Marketing Lie. This phrase, now synonymous with love and commitment, was coined in 1947 by copywriter Frances Gerety for De Beers. It was not a declaration of romance — it was a calculated strategy to prevent people from reselling diamonds, maintaining artificial scarcity and inflated prices. Before this campaign, diamond engagement rings were not the norm. De Beers created that norm through advertising.

The Rarity Myth. Diamonds are not rare. De Beers and a small number of mining conglomerates have historically stockpiled millions of carats per year to restrict supply and maintain price floors. The "rarity" you paid for was engineered, not natural.

Blood Diamonds. Conflict diamonds — mined in war zones and sold to finance armed conflict — have funded brutal civil wars in Sierra Leone, Angola, Liberia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Kimberley Process was introduced in 2003 to certify "conflict-free" diamonds, but critics note it covers only armed conflict, not human rights abuses, child labour, or environmental destruction.

Environmental Destruction. Mining one carat of diamond displaces an estimated 250 tonnes of earth, uses 127 gallons of water, and releases approximately 57kg of carbon dioxide. Open-pit mines leave craters kilometres wide that never recover. Lab-grown diamonds use 85% less water and produce a fraction of the carbon emissions per carat.

The Resale Myth. Mined diamonds do not hold their value the way gold or platinum does. A diamond purchased today typically resells for 20–40% of its retail price. The "investment value" marketed by retailers is largely fiction. Lab-grown diamonds are priced honestly from the start.

Diamonds & Astrology — The Ancient Connection Between Stones and the Stars

In Vedic astrology (Jyotish), gemstones are not merely ornamental — they are cosmic conductors, each linked to a planetary energy that shapes human fortune.

Who Should Wear a Diamond? Diamonds are especially beneficial for those with Taurus (Vrishabha) or Libra (Tula) as their ascendant or moon sign — both ruled by Venus. They are also recommended when Venus is weak or afflicted in a birth chart, causing challenges in relationships or creative endeavours.

Ancient Significance. Sanskrit texts refer to diamonds as Vajra — Indra's thunderbolt — symbolising invincibility and divine light. The 10th-century gemological text Ratnapariksha describes the finest diamonds as having the lustre of "a drop of water in sunlight" — remarkably consistent with modern grading for brilliance.

Do Lab-Grown Diamonds Have the Same Astrological Properties? Since lab-grown diamonds are chemically and physically identical to mined diamonds — pure crystalline carbon — many Jyotish practitioners confirm they carry the same planetary energies. The Vedic texts describe the properties of the stone itself, not its geological origin.

How to Wear for Best Results. Set in silver or white gold (cool metals compatible with Venus). Worn on the middle or ring finger of the right hand. Ideally on a Friday — Venus's day. A minimum of 0.25 carats is generally recommended for astrological effect. Consult your Jyotishi before wearing any gemstone for astrological purposes.
